It was so fun to see the brilliant mind of our character designer Pierre Perifel, as he chewed on different approaches for our villain as the story developed. Eventually we arrived at a vision from Lucy’s troubled past, a design inspired by the wild incarnations of David Bowie – but along the road, Scarecrow was a number of different characters, from pure Nightmare Monster to the eccentric Hartford Graves.
